"Funny enough, I can't remember meeting Randy for the first time," Mayra recalls. "I had seen him around church and knew his name, but we never interacted."

It wasn't until years later during the pandemic that fate intervened. "Randy dropped his kids off at kids church. I remember thinking he had a cute smile," Mayra admits. "Months later, he came to church and it felt like I really saw him for the first time. I thought to myself, 'Wow, he's handsome.' I also remember having a desire to get to know him."

It was through the modern wing of circumstance - a friend sharing Mayra's number with Randy - that their courtship took flight with their first FaceTime date. "It was this first conversation together that I began to fall in love," Mayra confides. "It felt like I was talking to someone I had known all my life. It was surreal."

While Mayra didn't fully "process that I was in love until about a month after we first spoke," she reveals, "I knew in my heart that Randy loved me. His actions made it evident." Randy's loving gestures affirmed to Mayra that he was her soulmate.

And this once unassuming connection was destined for eternal commitment when Randy crafted an unforgettably romantic proposal during a family music recital he had meticulously planned. As Mayra recounts, "Randy rented a space...After [the performances], he called me forward and sang and played a love song for me...With my eyes closed, when I opened them, there was a lighted sign reading 'Marry Me' and an arrangement of red pedals on the floor in the shape of a heart. We stood on the center of the heart where Randy gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him."
